In this white paper we discuss our first month - how Braid Technologies kicks off project acceleration experiences with new clients.
Our objective is to prepare the ground so that the periods of learning and project work for our client teams in the delivery stage are as productive as possible. The subjects we start with are:
Participants. We need to develop a list of 12-24 client staff, mostly new joiners into the technology organisation, but optionally 3-6 senior developers to seed into the group. For each person we need to know their degree, a few bullet points on their relevant work experience, and their key technical skills or area of interest.
Gateway Project candidates. We ideate with our clients a set of candidate AI projects- this might be Chatbots focusing on a specific customer segment, knowledge assistants for sales or operations, or high-tech opportunities such as developer Co-pilots for existing systems or real time opportunity scanning, signal processing etc.
Enablers. for each candidate project, we need to consider the enablers needed by the projects - data, policy, or technical components that may take some time to put in place.
People
This can be very simple if client teams are all on LinkedIn, or if clients have an internal skills/CV management system. We populate a table like the example below:
We give some thought, working with our client sponsors, on the best disposition of people to maximise overall benefit for their people and for the client - typically spreading people out into balanced teams.
Where candidates need specific preparation, such as Python programming, extending front end skills to the full-stack, or are targeting specific roles, we can now jointly prepare a specific training plan for them.
Projects
As a worked example, consider our own AI- enabled learning assistant. Unless clients have an existing preferred methodology, at Braid we use the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), which is a popular enterprise level approach. Safe recommends the Solution Vision to initiate projects. Here is our Solution Vision for our AI-enabled learning assistant:
Enablers
Safe also recommends a Solution Intent to explore technical requirements and data needs. Where we foresee long lead times, we need to kick off preparation activities.
Once the Solution Vision and Solution Intent are in place, we are ready to hold the kick-off meeting for the cohort and to start the Pre-Requisite stage of the experience.
